Supply chain

Cold isostatic presses are supplied by international and Chinese high-pressure equipment makers. In magnet production they improve density uniformity; ask suppliers whether CIP is used for your grade.

Buyer FAQ

What pressure is used for NdFeB green compacts?
Cold isostatic pressing of magnet green blocks typically uses about 150–250 MPa. Applying pressure equally from all sides raises green density and evens out density gradients from die pressing, reducing sintering distortion and cracking. Size the vessel bore and length to your largest block plus packaging, then check the cycle time against press throughput.
Wet-bag or dry-bag CIP?
Magnet plants use wet-bag CIP: green blocks are vacuum-sealed in flexible bags under inert gas and immersed in the pressure medium. Dry-bag systems with a fixed tooling membrane suit automated, high-volume small parts of one shape. The main pitfall is bag leakage, which lets fluid reach the compact and causes oxidation and scrap.
What certification and safety checks apply?
The pressure vessel must be certified under local rules, which in China means special-equipment registration and inspection; export units may also need PED or ASME. Wire-wound vessels give better fatigue life than monolithic forged vessels at high cycle counts. Require pressure-relief devices, door interlocks and documented periodic inspection.
